You'll be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

  • Able to set up, repair, adjust and troubleshoot production automation, industrial robotics equipment and interface devices.

  • Able to communicate and collaborate with maintenance and production to ensure timely line setup/change-over.

  • Manage and own specific groups of automated equipment ensuring world class production results.

  • Lead and mentor the automation and engineering staff.

  • Have a strong understanding of PLC driven control systems and be capable of interpreting ladder logic programs. This individual must demonstrate leading-edge or extensive knowledge in controls and automation.

  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC’s and other electrical controls as needed.

  • Capable of setting up communications and integrating robotics from scratch in new and existing automated processes.

  • Supervise and coordinate outside contractors to ensure that all upkeep, maintenance, and repairs are completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

  • Ability to maintain and program variable frequency drives and motor protection relays.

  • Capable of putting together statement of work, timeline, and execution of projects. Primary duty will be project work with floor support as needed.

  • Availability to work other shifts and weekends to support equipment operation and training programs.

  • Identify possible mechanical problems and report them to Maintenance or Production supervision personnel.

  • Perform preventative maintenance as required by company PM program for the robotics equipment.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and a safe work environment.

  • Participate in continuous process improvement to increase production efficiencies.

  • Participate in training and classes as directed.

  • All other duties as assigned. Ability to work in multiple plants on project-to-project basis.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Proficiency in PLC programming, specifically with Rockwell Control platforms including CompactLogix controllers and Factory talk HMI development.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and other engineering / technical documents.

  • Ability to wire control panels according to prints, following the latest codes and regulations.

  • Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions.

  • Basic comprehension of the English language: reading and writing skills to understand and complete necessary paperwork.

  • Strong mathematical aptitude.

  • Ability to organize priorities and manage workload effectively.

  • Excellent spatial awareness.

  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of basic electronics and mechanical concepts.

  • Experience with power tools such as band saws, drills, tap & die sets, etc.

  • Ability to think and operate with a spirit of innovation and adaptability.

  • Ability to abandon non-viable ideas and quickly pivot to new approaches.

Other TOOLS we prefer you to have:

  • Associate’s degree or 5+ year of experience in an industry related field
